House sales down almost 50% on pre-credit crunch levels

Conflicting reports have been issued by two rival property listings websites. According to Rightmove, sellers are increasing their asking prices, but Zoopla are claiming that house prices have fallen by 11% since last summer.

House Prices Fall February 2011

As if the property market wasn’t hard enough, it has been report by the Halifax that house price took yet another turn for the worst is February this year, with a decrease of 0.9%. The lending from all the banks and the uncertainty with the job market means that the property market is struggling; forcing house movers are finding hard forcing them to reduce their property prices.

House prices fall again in June

House prices fell again in June!

Although the Halifax had announced an increase in the property prices as of late, they also announced that in June house prices fell by 0.5%. They have said that this year house prices house prices had not fallen as dramatically as last year and that the market has stabilised slightly. There are some many predictions being made by so many of the property professionals i.e. Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), but none of these predictions are accurate.

House prices are going backwards again

It was announce today that U.K. house price had fallen by 0.4% in April.

There had been signs of the market starting to stabilise in certain areas, but research has revealed that the house prices are now starting to drop again. This is on top of the number of new mortgages being approved hit a low for the first time since January.

There are mixed opinions amongst property experts as to whether the market is going to fall even further this year. Looking into the history of the last recession, the U.K. was in a recession last time for about 7 years.
